Our Center for International Education house our Intensive English Program. Salem State University students come from 70 different countries to improve their English through our English as a Second Language program, and to earn both undergraduate and graduate degrees. The university provides a friendly and welcoming environment for the over 400 international students who call our campus home. The Center for International Education, located at 8 Harrison Road on the university's South Campus, offers a variety of services including:
- immigration advice - housing information - ESL classes - TOEFL preparation - academic advising - counseling - social activities - airport pick up for first time arrivals - A lounge is available so the international students can gather together, share their experiences and help each other

The master of arts in teaching English to speakers of other languages is designed to prepare students to teach English language learners in a variety of settings combining theory and practice.
